Specialized Tags

Custom tags for birds, giraffes, ostriches, crocodiles, and other species where collars are unsuitable.

Overview

Some animals simply cannot wear a collar. Savannah Tracking's specialized tags cover birds, giraffes, ostriches, crocodiles, and other species that need a custom attachment approach.

Tags transmit over GPS-GSM or Iridium with UHF telemetry for ground tracking. Accelerometer-based monitoring supports behaviour and mortality alerts, and schedules can be changed remotely after deployment. Geo-fencing works the same way as on collars.

Reference builds include a GSM bird tag at 105 x 36 x 22 mm and 58 g, and an Iridium tag at 110 x 33 x 22 mm and 85 g.
