Standard Neck Collars

Versatile GPS collars for many wildlife species across research, monitoring, and conservation operations.

Overview

The standard neck collar is Savannah Tracking's most versatile platform, deployed on a wide range of wildlife species for research, monitoring, and conservation operations.

Collars communicate two-way over GSM or Iridium, so GPS schedules, position averaging, and alert settings can be adjusted after deployment. VHF and UHF telemetry support ground work, geo-fence alerts flag zone violations, and data exports in CSV, KMZ, and SHP formats feed straight into GIS and analysis workflows.

Sizing and battery configurations scale with the species: as examples, a 1 D-cell lion collar weighs about 750 g with a 2-year life, and a 2 D-cell zebra collar about 950 g with 4 years, at specified schedules.
